The Manager of Support Services is responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the daily operations of Environmental Services, Textiles/Linen, and/or Patient Transport. This role provides leadership and supervision to assigned staff, including orientation, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance support. The manager oversees both the technical and administrative functions of the assigned departments while implementing operational goals and initiatives that align with the needs of clinical and non-clinical units. The position focuses on maintaining efficient, high-quality support services while ensuring departmental goals and organizational objectives are achieved.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Implement short and long term goals consistent with those of EVS, Textiles/Linen, and/or Patient Transport.

  • Manage quality assurance and performance improvement activities within the assigned areas.

  • Interpret and ensure compliance with all appropriate standards.

  • Provide direct supervision of assigned team members.

  • Ensure that all members have a performance management program.

  • Ensure that policies and procedures are consistently applied throughout the program.

  • Perform regular evaluation and mentoring of all team members.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of programs for the professional growth of members in areas of responsibility, both technical and behavioral.

  • Increase efficiency and effectiveness of assigned area activities with a goal of decreasing expenses.

  • Establish systems and processes to attract, develop, engage, and retain talented employees.

  • Analyze problems and coordinates work plans with other departments as appropriate.

  • Accountable for the development and monitoring of, and compliance with, the departmental budget, including capital, operating and construction budgets.

  • Review inventory of equipment and materials and initiates purchase requisitions.

  • Hold assigned areas accountable for operational and business goals.

  • Monitor processes and recommends and implement improvements to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency of staff.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience as a work leader, team lead or supervisory experience in a related field

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Healthcare experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include a high degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC, normal or corrected vision, extensive sitting and frequent walking.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum Annual Salary: $63,250.00

Maximum Annual Salary: $96,467.50

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.). The pay range does not include the value of Cleveland Clinic's benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).
