About the Position: Serves as a Construction Control Representative for the Emergency Management Branch, US Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District.

Duties

• Serve as office coordinator of all rental equipment work for Emergency Management Branch.
• Review/coordinate plans and specifications from other District elements and performs related duties necessary for accomplishment of construction by contracted equipment or Government-hired labor.
• Incumbent may be required to deviate from established methods to modify, adapt, and/or refine broader guidelines to resolve complex and/or intricate issues and problems in the field.
• Prepare progress reports/progress schedules, recommending to supervisor any changes in scheduling deemed necessary to meet priorities.
• Develop construction management plans and solicitation documents for each project.
• Represent Emergency Management on Project Management Teams for each project.
• Ensure that "as built" data and shop drawings are prepared during and following completion of construction.

Minimum Qualifications for the GS-12 level: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience in all of the following areas: 1.) Review and coordinate construction plans, technical specifications, and "as-built" data for the construction of civil or military projects; and 2.) experience developing construction management plans, technical solicitation documents, or master schedules; and 3.) serve as an organizational liaison or project coordinator. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years; however, return rights may be impacted.
