GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Wyoming Retirement Center in Basin, WY, seeks a qualified individual to fill the Food Services Assistant part-time position. This position performs various tasks in the dietary department, including offering a pleasant dining experience for the residents with excellent customer service.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.

  • Performs a variety of routine tasks and food preparation activities in the operation of the food service department.

  • Serves resident meals restaurant-style in the main dining room.

  • Cleans and sanitizes the kitchen and dining area.

  • Operates commercial dishwasher, washes utensils, pots, and pans.

Qualifications

PREFERENCES:

Preference may be given to those who have a minimum of 6 months of customer service experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of food service and kitchens.

  • Knowledge of food service equipment operation.

  • Knowledge of basic cleaning and sanitation techniques.

  • Knowledge of and ability to work at a consistent pace.

  • Knowledge of skills and patience in communicating with elderly and disabled residents and possessing a positive attitude.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services)

OR

Education & Experience Substitution:

1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Food Services)

None

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work holidays, evenings, and/or weekends as scheduled.

  • Be physically active throughout the day (i.e., walking, stooping, bending, lifting).

  • Must be able to handle all types of food groups, including, but not limited to, poultry, meat, fish, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, spices, and seasonings.

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.

NOTES:

  • FLSA: Non-Exempt

  • The position is part-time.

  • For the health and protection of our residents, annual Tuberculosis testing is required.

  • A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
