Project Engineer 📍 Abilene, TX (Onsite) 💲 Compensation: $105,000 Base Salary

Overview We are seeking a Project Engineer to support large-scale power generation, energy infrastructure, and heavy industrial construction projects in the Abilene, TX area. This is a field-driven role offering the opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers and Superintendents on high-profile infrastructure projects.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Create, submit, and track RFIs and change orders.
  • Identify and capture out-of-scope work opportunities.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and field activities.
  • Monitor project progress against schedules and milestones.
  • Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, and project sequencing.
  • Track project costs, changes, and budget impacts.
  • Assist with forecasting and progress reporting.
  • Participate in project meetings and proactively identify risks and solutions.
  • Coordinate civil, electrical, and mechanical project teams.
  • Assist with progress billings and invoice approvals.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Project Engineer, Field Engineer, or Assistant Project Manager experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings.
  • Experience creating and managing RFIs and change orders.
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors and field operations.
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, milestones, and critical path concepts.
  • Ability to independently manage responsibilities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Experience with cost tracking and project progress reporting.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $105,000/year
