Job Description

The L3 SOC Security Engineer serves as a senior technical resource within the Web Defense Security Operations Center (SOC), responsible for advanced threat investigation, incident response, threat hunting, detection engineering, and security operations optimization Alert and incident reporting for attack trends or to feed trend analysis into behavioral engines to optimize workflows and overall accuracy and effectiveness.

This role acts as the escalation point for L1/L2 SOW engineering teams for security incidents, performing deep forensic and log analysis, identifies attack patterns and root causes, and works closely with security teams to strengthen security posture and operational effectiveness through After-Action-Reporting and feedback analysis.

Skills and Requirements

• 7+ years of cybersecurity experience.
• 5-7 years in a Security Operations Center, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, or Detection Engineering role.
• Experience handling major security incidents and escalations.
• Experience supporting 24x7 security operations environments.
• Experience with cloud security operations and modern security platforms.
• Experience improving SOC maturity, automation, and detection effectiveness.
• Experience with Fastly WAF, bot mitigation, or web application security technologies is highly desirable.
