We are looking for a Professional Counselor to provide clinical assessment and treatment of clients with various mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, medication-assisted treatment, and high-risk patients in crisis. Possession of a current Louisiana license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) plus two years of licensed counseling experience.The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found here.Job Duties:

  • Completes intake and psycho-social evaluations on primarily adults and some aftercare individuals, which includes providing technical and clinical input on diagnosis and treatment in the interdisciplinary staff consultation with staff prescribers to establish an individual's treatment plan for each individual in treatment.
  • Completes correspondence, written reports, and other communications with other agencies regarding an individual's care
  • May provide crisis evaluation for individuals who are in acute distress as indicated by a family member, coroner, law authorities, etc., which may require complex and specialized crisis intervention, psychosocial evaluation, and specialized clinical treatment.

Position-Specific Details:Appointment Type: Probational Appointment or Job Appointment Compensation: This position is eligible for premium pay of $1.00/hour for hours worked performing direct patient care. The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:

  • Professional Counselor 4: $24.35/hour minimum - $40.53/hour maximum
