Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)

Salary: $60,250 - $65,000

Binghamton University is seeking organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative professional to join the Student Affairs Business Operations team as Business Manager. These positions serve as key financial advisors and administrative leads, providing strategic fiscal oversight and day-to-day business management for key operational areas, programs, and departments across the Division of Student Affairs.

The Health & Wellness programs work collaboratively to provide Binghamton University students with high-quality health and counseling options; and provide education, prevention, and outreach programs. The areas include Decker Health Services, University Counseling Center, Employee Assistance Program, Campus Recreation, Services for Students with Disabilities and the Healthy Campus Initiative.

Duties include:

  • Responsible for management of financial records for all areas under the Associate Vice President and Chief Health & Wellness Officer

  • Work closely with the AVP and directors to monitor budgets, review revenue and expenditures, and analyze fiscal performance

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports

  • Assist program areas and Student Affairs VP Office with strategic financial planning

  • Oversee all University fee processes and annual paperwork for health & wellness programs

  • Supervise all purchasing processes, travel, and reimbursements to ensure compliance with SUNY and NYS procedures

  • Oversee all processes relating to revenue collection including cash handling and deposit procedures, PCI compliance, and point of sale software configuration

  • Manage account receivables and invoicing procedures

  • Assist with other health & wellness initiatives, pilot programs and special events

  • Occasional evening, night or weekend work may be required if a situation warrants this need

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

  • Two or more years of professional or paraprofessional experience in a business-related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Familiarity with cash handling processes and PCI compliance

  • Detail oriented as well as have effective time management and organization skills

Preferred:

  • Two or more years of professional experience in accounting or related field

  • Advanced degree in a related field

  • Experience working with NYS financial systems and accounting structure
