Job Title: Electrical Controls EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Electrical Controls Engineer to join our dynamic team. This full-time role involves leading automation projects, designing and troubleshooting PLC-based systems, and providing exceptional technical support. The position requires a proactive individual who can ensure successful project execution, maintain high customer satisfaction, and contribute to business development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead on assigned automation projects, ensuring successful execution and on-time delivery.

  • Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems and related electrical infrastructure.

  • Provide ongoing technical support to customers and internal teams.

  • Review system and equipment specifications to develop optimal control strategies and programming approaches.

  • Travel to customer sites for system commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, and support.

  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to source components and support project execution.

  • Contribute to business development efforts through technical insight and customer engagement.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering.

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • 3+ years of experience in automation system design and controls engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with PLC and HMI programming.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including applied math proficiency.

  • Effective verbal communication and collaboration skills.

  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work both independently and within a team.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms (RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, CCW).

  • Understanding of industrial networking fundamentals (Ethernet/IP or similar).

  • Exposure to VBA, SQL, or data integration tools is a plus.

  • Knowledge of power distribution systems is preferred but not required.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, design, and HMI programming.

  • Familiarity with hydraulics, schematics, pneumatics, and SCADA systems.

Work Environment

The role is primarily onsite with an average travel requirement of 3-5 weeks per year, depending on project demands. The environment involves working in industrial settings, requiring adherence to PPE requirements. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Park City, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $140000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
