Full job description
Description Fervo is working to build the most cost-effective, scalable geothermal power plants in the world. Delivering on this mission requires not just breakthrough technology, but the development engine to turn projects into reality – managing the partnerships, structuring the contracts, and building the internal tools that move a rapidly growing pipeline from concept to commercial operation. Joining Fervo's Development team means sitting inside that engine, working across commercial, development, and analytical workstreams that directly shape how Fervo's GeoClusters get built and financed.
We are seeking a Development Analyst who is energized by Fervo's mission and eager to take on broad, high-impact responsibility early in their career. Reporting to a Development Manage, this role is wide-ranging in scope, spanning project management, financial analysis, market and regulatory research, contract structuring, and internal tooling development. It is ideal for an analytical, organized self-starter who thrives on ambiguity, learns quickly, and wants front-row exposure to how large-scale clean energy projects come together in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment.
Requirements Responsibilities Project Management for External Partnership Developments
- Support coordination of projects across Fervo's development pipeline, including partnership-driven developments, helping manage timelines, deliverables, and milestones across internal teams and external partners.
- Maintain project trackers, organize cross-party and cross-functional workstreams, and prepare status updates and materials for partner meetings and internal leadership reviews.
- Identify schedule risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks early, and help drive items to resolution across counterparties.
Contract Negotiation & Financial Analysis Support
- Support the structuring, evaluation, and negotiation of development transactions and multi-party agreements, including preparing term sheet comparisons, deal summaries, and decision-support materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Build and maintain models that quantify the commercial, financial, and risk implications of alternative deal structures across counterparty pairings.
- Track open commercial issues, organize negotiation inputs, and help coordinate across internal legal, finance, and development teams to keep transactions moving.
Market and regulatory research
- Conduct research and analysis on markets, counterparties, regulatory and transmission and integrated resource planning (IRP) processes, and other factors that shape Fervo’s development strategy.
- Support diligence efforts on new opportunities and partnerships, both internally and externally driven.
- Synthesize complex information into clear, decision-ready findings and recommendations for the development team and senior leadership.
Support Development of Internal Tools for Managing Fervo's Pipeline
- Work with the development and internal tooling teams to help design, build, and improve internal tools, trackers, and dashboards that manage and provide visibility into Fervo's development pipeline.
- Help standardize how pipeline data, deliverables, and milestones are captured and reported, ensuring tools scale as the portfolio grows.
- Translate team workflows into repeatable, structured processes and supporting tooling.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, economics, finance, business, public policy, environmental studies, or a related field.
- Relevant professional or internship experience, with up to three years of experience preferred.
- Experience with quantitative analysis and financial or data modeling through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Interest in the electricity sector and power markets; prior coursework or internship exposure is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information for varied audiences.
- Highly organized self-starter able to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
