Job Description
1.0Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
1.1Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible through active engagement in safety activities and provide clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
1.2Supports and investigates situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
1.3Completes responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures, and applicable laws.
1.4Actively leads risk assessment activities for their area of responsibility by driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate/reduce environmental, health or safety risks.
1.5Lead all required meetings with safety (i.e. Pre-shift, Department, General communication, etc.).
1.6Completes incident investigations, root cause analysis and implements corrective actions accordingly in a timely and thorough manner.
1.7Ensures the proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
1.8Sets goals for their organizational unit; achieves goals and ensures that all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
1.9Motivates and coaches' employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback.Identifies and coordinates additional training as needed.
1.10Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility.
1.11Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers.
1.12Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system.
2.0Competency Requirements

2.4Engagement - communicate and support the vision of plant leadership; celebrate the wins, and ensure employees actively participate in safety-related activities.
2.5Team Development - understand the development needs of employees in your organization; drive the culture of employees as safety leaders; champion talent development from pre-hire to continuous learning.
2.6People Agility -Understand personal strengths and weaknesses; leads by example; promotes change through listening skills and seeking frequent input from employees; is genuine and approachable; firm but fair - consistent.
2.7Problem Solving/Conflict Resolution - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; mitigates relationship conflicts and encourages constructive (problem-solving) conflict.
3.0Authority, including but not limited to:
3.1Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems.
3.2Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
3.3Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions.
4.0Primary Duties, including but not limited to:
4.1Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements, and Plant Safety Rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment.
4.2Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
4.3Maintain good housekeeping and 5S.
4.4Adhere to all Safety, Food Safety & Quality Management System standards, practices and requirements.
4.5Coordinate the full operation of the manufacturing process to produce plastic components in such a manner to attain optimum performance in the utilization of manpower, maintenance of quality levels, adherence to production schedules and employment of assets.
4.6Plan, organize and make work assignments to operators and setup personnel.
4.7Plan department activities based on production schedules to make optimum use of manpower and facilities.
4.8Coordinate and check setups, machine operation, initial production and the use of all safety equipment.
4.9Recommend and implement changes in operating procedures that will help to improve quality, lower costs, and increase productivity.
4.10Establish and maintain sound employee relations within the department.
4.11Encourage suggestions and ideas from operating personnel which could improve quality, lower costs and improve productivity.
4.12Maintain conformance to work rules and regulations. Administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary and properly document.
4.13Perform employee performance appraisals.
4.14Develop positive attitude among employees regarding productivity, quality and housekeeping.
4.15Implement required disciplinary action and all related documentation as needed.
4.16Ability to train and work well with others.
4.17Attend First Responder training and become certified.
4.18Become PIT certified (for emergency situations) through Berry PIT training.
5.0QUALIFICATIONS / Education Required:
5.1Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
5.2Capable of maintaining an attendance record within company guidelines and be willing to work any shift and overtime as required
5.3High school diploma or GED equivalency.Read, write and speak English.
5.4Past experience/proven ability within the specified disciplines, with negative drug screen test results.
5.5Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent knowledge in a manufacturing environment.
5.6Five to seven years manufacturing experience / training.
5.7Proficient computer knowledge, Word, Excel.
5.8Capable of Utilizing Berry's operating and support systems (JDE, QSI, WebEFF, etc.).
5.9Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
