Job Overview:

Builder Finance Inc. (BFI) is the growing lender to homebuilders and housing investors. This internship is for someone looking to learn about real estate and finance, with an emphasis on residential construction. Day-to-day job responsibilities will be based on the immediate needs of BFI. Pending good performance, opportunity may exist for an intern to focus on an area of his or her interest. Example areas include: property underwriting, borrower underwriting, market research, valuation processes, closing processes, information technology systems, and financial reporting. The ultimate goal of an internship is to determine if someone is a long term fit for BFI.

The work environment is supportive and friendly but demanding.

Most interns are hired for the summer, but we are open to part-time hires during the school year. Unless you provide a clear statement otherwise, we will assume you are applying to work on a full-time basis during the summer. Compensation is an hourly rate of $25. Interns are generally not eligible for overtime.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Open to current students as well as recent graduates. Please include GPA with resume submission and any standardized test scores or other achievements that you feel are relevant.

  • Experience: No experience required although preference given to those with demonstrated interest in real estate.

  • Specific Skills:

  • Attention to detail and solid work ethic

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ambitious, team-player attitude
