Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Principal Engineer, Platform Integrations for a top enterprise financial software client. This individual will join a team responsible for the integration backbone of a mission-critical equity management platform and will help deliver a major Fortune 100 client onboarding. The engineer will work hands-on across C#/.NET, Oracle PL/SQL, file-based data exchange, background processing, and Azure-hosted services while owning integration features and client migration work from requirements through production release. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior technical contributor who enjoys solving complex data-movement challenges, improving highly reliable financial systems, partnering with client stakeholders, and incorporating AI-first engineering practices into daily delivery.

Day-to-Day

  • Build and enhance the integration backbone of the Certent Equity Management platform for a strategic Fortune 100 client engagement
  • Spend most of the day writing and reviewing production-quality C#/.NET 8 and Oracle PL/SQL code
  • Develop file-based import/export capabilities, broker interfaces, partner integrations, and background-processing services
  • Own assigned features and migration work from requirements through design, implementation, testing, and release
  • Author Engineering Design Documents when appropriate
  • Validate mappings, transformations, reconciliation logic, and error handling for financial-data pipelines
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues spanning C#/.NET and Oracle PL/SQL
  • Design and optimize high-volume Oracle queries, stored procedures, indexes, and execution plans
  • Improve connector abstractions, resilience patterns, observability, and security
  • Build or enhance structured logging, distributed tracing, health checks, and operational alerts
  • Create unit, integration, and contract tests for integration and broker interfaces
  • Support client migration cutovers, parallel-run reconciliation, data validation, go-live activities, and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with engineering management, Product Management, QA, Solution Architecture, peer integration teams, and Principal Engineers
  • Identify delivery risks, blockers, and scope concerns early
  • Use Claude Code and other agentic tooling as part of the daily development workflow, targeting at least 50% AI-authored pull requests and 95% AI-assisted code-review adoption Operate as a 100% individual contributor with no direct reports

Skills and Requirements

Must-Haves

  • 8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in enterprise SaaS environments, including Principal or Senior Principal Engineer experience

  • Deep C# and .NET expertise across legacy .NET Framework or ASP.NET and modern .NET 6+/8 or ASP.NET Core

  • Advanced Oracle Database and PL/SQL skills, including complex SQL, stored procedures, packages, triggers, execution-plan analysis, indexing, and performance tuning

  • Production experience with file-based integrations, including CSV, fixed-width files, XML, Excel parsing, PGP encryption, SFTP, and archive management

  • Experience executing client data migrations or large-scale client onboarding initiatives involving financial or similarly sensitive production data

  • Ability to validate data mappings, transformation logic, error handling, and reconciliation across import and export pipelines

  • Experience with multi-tenant, tenant-scoped data isolation and the associated security considerations

  • Hands-on Azure experience supporting and troubleshooting integration services

  • Experience working in long-lived, mission-critical codebases while avoiding regressions

  • Knowledge of connector or plugin architectures, including factory and template method patterns

  • Experience with queue-based processing, retry logic, concurrency, state transitions, failure handling, and dead-letter processing

  • Experience with structured logging, distributed tracing, operational alerting, health checks, and pipeline monitoring

  • Hands-on use of agentic development tools, with an AI-first approach to engineering

  • Ability to support multiple independent deployment environments with ecosystem-specific configurations

  • Strong client-facing communication skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience Plusses

  • Boomi or comparable enterprise iPaaS experience

  • Hangfire or another production background-job scheduling framework

  • Docker or Podman experience

  • REST API design and maintenance experience using clean, layered architecture

  • Financial services, equity compensation, broker-dealer integration, or other regulated-industry experience

  • Familiarity with ESPP, RSU/RSA, stock option exercise, tax withholding, or broker data-interface workflows

  • Azure DevOps CI/CD experience

  • NuGet package management and enterprise build/deployment experience Integration security experience involving secrets management, credential vaulting, encryption in transit, and API authentication
