Job Description
A large automotive client is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of complex infrastructure construction projects. This role is responsible for driving field operations, managing contractors, and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver who thrives in fast-paced environments with critical timelines and minimal room for error.
Key Responsibilities -Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities across electrical, structural, mechanical, process, and instrumentation scopes. -Develop and manage project execution plans, schedules, site logistics, and installation strategies. -Oversee contractors, trade partners, and vendor installations to ensure work progresses according to schedule and quality expectations. -Resolve field issues, develop RFIs, troubleshoot installation challenges, and drive technical solutions to maintain project momentum. -Coordinate utility connections, system testing, inspections, commissioning activities, and production equipment startup. -Prioritize critical path activities and equipment turnover milestones to support manufacturing startup schedules. -Enforce safety regulations, maintain quality standards, and ensure compliance with OSHA and applicable local requirements. -Track project progress, maintain daily reports, and communicate weekly construction updates to stakeholders.
Pay Range for this role is $50 - $61 per hour depending on years of experience and education.
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or evidence of exceptional ability
- Minimum 8 years of construction or Manufacturing experience in large industrial construction projects in Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Refining, Pharmaceuticals, Semiconductors, Data Center or equivalent high-tech facilities
- Previous experience as a Lead Superintendent on previous industrial facility upgrades, Brownfield construction, building renovation or tenant improvement project(s)
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, OSHA 30 certification (or equivalent); current First Aid and CPR Certification, or be willing to be certified
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam and scheduling software (Microsoft Projects)
- Proficient in Single Lines (low and medium voltage), Panels Schedules, Lighting, Block, Wiring and Schematic Diagrams
- Willingness to spend a high percentage of time in the field and to get hands dirty as needed to complete objectives or find the correct information
- Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive goals
- Ability to work with minimal guidance; proactive and motivated self-starter.
