Scope of Work

Provides staffing coordination and workforce allocation support for hospital-based nursing departments, including float and flex pools. Responsible for monitoring staffing needs, analyzing shift-by-shift staffing variances, and ensuring appropriate team member placement to support safe and effective patient care operations. Utilizes staffing, scheduling, and timekeeping systems to coordinate staffing resources, process payroll-related activities, and maintain accurate workforce records.

Collaborates closely with nursing leadership and operational teams to identify staffing needs, assign float and flex team members to units experiencing staffing deficits, and implement staffing adjustments in accordance with established policies and procedures. Supports department operations through data compilation, recruitment-related activities, meeting participation, and administrative support functions.

Maintains effective communication with nursing staff, leaders, and interdisciplinary partners to ensure timely dissemination of staffing assignments and operational updates. Demonstrates professionalism, strong customer service skills, and a commitment to teamwork while contributing to the overall success of the department and Corewell Health.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Two (2) years of relevant experience in administrative, office, clerical, scheduling, customer service, healthcare support, or related fields

  • Proficiency with computer applications and scheduling systems

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Preferred

  • Associate's Degree in a related field

  • Experience with healthcare staffing, scheduling, timekeeping, or payroll systems

  • Previous experience supporting hospital or healthcare operations
