Full job description

Description

RBC Bearings is seeking a Chemical Engineer who will be report to the New Product and Process Development Group Manager. This position is responsible for the development, testing, and validation of new products and their associated manufacturing processes. The Chemical Engineer will primarily work on products and components related to RBC self-lubricating liner products which involve resin, structural and lubricant fillers, composites, improvements in adhesion. Additional development projects include development and troubleshooting of lubricants (greases and oils), bearing seals, cleaning and plating baths, as well as other chemical processes.

Chemical Engineer – Oxford, CT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of new-engineered products for RBC Bearings.

  • Provide chemical process development expertise and assistance to RBC Divisions.

  • Assist RBC Divisions with manufacturing troubleshooting.

  • Perform analytical analyses of current and newly developed products and processing.

Qualifiactions:

  • Bachelor's in chemical engineering

  • Knowledge of thermosetting resins, thermoplastics and elastomers a plus

  • Knowledge of composite systems, and manufacturing techniques a plus

  • Knowledge of plating principles and practices a plus

  • Analytical chemistry knowledge, especially with FTIR and DSC.
