The Modeling and Simulation Engineering Intern will support engineering activities related to multibody dynamics, vehicle dynamics, durability, and/or multi-physics simulation. The intern will work with experienced engineers to build, run, post-process, and evaluate simulation models used for product development.

This position is intended to provide hands-on experience with engineering simulation workflows, test and simulation data analysis, model correlation, and technical problem solving. Assignments will be scoped to the intern's experience level and completed with guidance from engineering team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND SKILLS :

Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with multibody dynamicsmodeling, vehicle performanceanalysis,andco-simulation activities.

• Build, modify, run, and post-process simulation modelsof vehicles and mechanical systemsunder the guidance of experienced engineers.

• Support comparison and correlation of simulation results with physical test data.

• Assist with development of scripts and tools for simulation setup, data processing, visualization, and reporting.

• Work with engineering teams such as design, test, controls, andmanufacturingto support project activities.

• Document model assumptions, analysis methods, results, and conclusions.

• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and team meetings.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

• Completion of foundational coursework in dynamics, mechanics, controls, numerical methods, or related subjects is preferred.

• Previous internship, Formula SAE/Baja SAE, research, laboratory, design-team, or engineering project experience is beneficial but not required.

DESIRED SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

• Exposure to multibody dynamics or simulation tools such as Adams,Dymola,Simscape.

• Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Python, C++, orsimilarprogramming languages.

• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, vehicle dynamics,andcontrols.

• Familiarity with engineering data analysis, plotting, and interpretation.

• Exposure to signal processing, test data analysis, or data acquisition systems.

• Strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently on well-defined tasks while seeking guidance when needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

• Ability to work safely in office, laboratory, shop, or test environments as required by assigned projects.

• Ability to lift and move light engineering equipment or components in accordance with company safety requirements.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

• Standard work hours will follow department and company internship guidelines.

• Some schedule flexibility may be required to support testing, project milestones, or team activities.

Pay Range:

$18.00 - $37.00

The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
