Job Description

Our client is seeking a Junior Firmware Test Engineer to join their R&D team supporting the development of innovative medical devices. This individual will work alongside firmware developers and cross-functional engineering teams to test and validate embedded software running on hardware components such as pulse generators and charging systems. The role will focus on executing firmware and system-level test cases, supporting design verification activities, troubleshooting and documenting defects, reviewing requirements, and helping ensure products meet quality, performance, and regulatory standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their engineering career who is interested in embedded systems, medical devices, and hands-on testing in a highly collaborative development environment.

This position is 5 days a week onsite in Houston, Tx. Hourly rate: $28-$35 based on experience

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related field

1-3 years of engineering, testing, or embedded systems experience

Understanding of software testing principles

Exposure to C programming or embedded systems through coursework, internships, or professional experience

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and communicate findings effectively

Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

Experience with medical devices, hardware testing, or regulated environments is a plus Medical device experience
