Job Description

Love being on the move, meeting new people, and turning introductions into relationships?

We’re looking for a high-energy, outgoing relationship builder to support our clinical research sites across the Alabama and Georgia region.

This is a highly visible, field-facing role for someone who would rather be out building relationships than sitting behind a desk. You’ll spend time across our Huntsville, Birmingham and Atlanta markets—visiting physician practices, engaging healthcare professionals and office teams, developing community partnerships, attending events, and identifying new opportunities to connect potential participants with clinical research studies.

If you’re energized by travel, comfortable walking into a physician’s office and introducing yourself, and motivated by building a network from the ground up, we want to meet you.

What You’ll Do

As our Physician & Community Outreach Specialist , you’ll help drive clinical trial recruitment and enrollment by developing a strong regional network of healthcare and community relationships.

You will:

  • Proactively build and cultivate relationships with physicians, physician practices, practice managers, healthcare professionals, hospital networks, and community leaders across the Huntsville, Birmingham and Atlanta markets.

  • Travel regionally between our Huntsville, Birmingham and Atlanta sites and surrounding communities to develop relationships, support outreach activities, and respond to recruitment priorities.

  • Spend meaningful time in the field visiting physician offices and healthcare organizations—introducing our clinical research capabilities and developing new referral relationships.

  • Become a familiar, trusted presence with physician office teams by maintaining consistent face-to-face engagement and thoughtful follow-up.

  • Partner with our clinical research sites to understand their currently enrolling studies and identify physicians, organizations, and communities that may have access to appropriate patient populations.

  • Identify new outreach opportunities and creative ways to increase awareness of clinical research opportunities throughout the region.

  • Build relationships with patient advocacy organizations, social and community groups, schools, retirement communities, and other local partners.

  • Identify, schedule, and attend community events that provide opportunities for face-to-face engagement and lead generation.

  • Maintain knowledge of currently enrolling studies, study timelines, and relevant protocol requirements.

  • Support recruitment, engagement, retention, and enrollment goals across assigned sites.

  • Help grow the potential participant database through proactive outreach and recruitment initiatives.

  • Utilize technology, presentations, marketing materials, and other resources to support recruitment strategies and on-time enrollment.

  • Manage outreach projects and collaborate closely with site and internal teams to meet recruitment objectives.

The Regional Nature of This Role

This role is designed for someone who enjoys being in the field and considers travel an important part of building strong relationships.

You’ll support clinical research sites and outreach activities across the Alabama-Georgia region , with regular regional travel based on site needs, enrolling studies, physician engagement opportunities, and community events.

That may mean spending one week developing physician relationships in the Alabama market and another supporting outreach priorities in Georgia. Your ability to stay organized, manage your territory, and maintain relationships across markets will be an important part of your success.

Who Will Thrive Here?

You may be a great fit if you are:

  • High energy and self-motivated — you create momentum rather than waiting for it.

  • A road warrior at heart — you enjoy getting out into your territory, meeting people face-to-face, and managing a regional schedule.

  • Outgoing and relationship-driven — meeting someone new is an opportunity, not an obstacle.

  • Confident approaching physician offices and starting conversations with physicians, practice managers, and healthcare professionals.

  • Persistent and resilient — an unanswered call or a closed door motivates you to find another way to connect.

  • Professional and credible — you know how to represent an organization effectively in healthcare environments.

  • Goal-oriented — you enjoy measurable objectives and finding creative ways to achieve them.

  • Highly organized — you can coordinate travel, site priorities, meetings, follow-ups, events, and multiple relationships without losing sight of the details.

  • An engaging communicator and presenter who can adapt your approach to different audiences.

  • Comfortable working independently in the field while remaining closely connected to a broader team.

  • Someone who brings a positive attitude, curiosity, and strong business acumen to every interaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant academic/vocational qualification.

  • Approximately 2+ years of relevant experience , or an equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related experience.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and develop professional relationships.

  • Strong planning, organization, territory-management, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple sites, relationships, and outreach activities.

  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic and changing environment.

  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the Alabama and Georgia region, including travel between assigned clinical research sites and surrounding communities.

  • Flexibility to attend physician meetings, community events, and other outreach activities based on business and study needs.

Why This Role Matters

Clinical research depends on connecting the right people with the right studies—and those connections often start with a relationship.

In this role, you’ll become a visible representative of our clinical research sites throughout the Huntsville, Birmingham and Atlanta markets. The relationships you develop with physicians, office teams, healthcare organizations, and community partners can directly contribute to greater awareness of clinical research and help sites reach patients who may be interested in participating.

If you love being on the move, opening doors, building a territory, and seeing your relationships translate into measurable results, this is an opportunity to make an impact.

Bring your energy. Build the network. Connect communities with clinical research.
