The Opportunity
The Dental Network Specialist is responsible for developing, expanding, and strengthening MetLife's dental provider network throughout Puerto Rico. This role serves as the primary relationship manager for assigned providers, focusing on building trusted partnerships, recruiting new providers, negotiating participation agreements, and maintaining strong provider engagement across the market.

The successful candidate will build meaningful relationships with providers, influence network growth strategies, and partner with internal stakeholders to support member access, client growth, and long-term network stability.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dental providers, serving as the primary point of contact for assigned providers throughout Puerto Rico.
- Recruit, negotiate, and contract providers to support network growth, market expansion, and network adequacy objectives.
- Identify and pursue provider recruitment and engagement opportunities using network analysis, market intelligence, provider reporting, business insights, and AI-enabled tools.
- Conduct provider visits, meetings, and educational sessions to strengthen provider satisfaction, retention, and overall network performance.
- Partner closely with Sales and internal stakeholders to support client growth initiatives, address provider concerns, proactively mitigate retention risks, and leverage data and technology to improve provider engagement strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in provider relations, account management, business development, sales, customer relationship management, network management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated success building and maintaining professional relationships with external partners, customers, clients, or providers.
- Strong negotiation, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex conversations and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, CRM platforms such as Salesforce, and AI-enabled tools to analyze provider data, identify opportunities, improve productivity, and support informed business decisions.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in dental provider relations, dental office management, dental network development, provider contracting, or dental managed care environments.
- Knowledge of dental PPO, DHMO, and other healthcare provider network models.
- Familiarity with the Puerto Rico healthcare and provider market landscape.
- Experience developing business partnerships and driving engagement strategies with external stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.
The expected salary range for this position is $59,000 - $70,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
