Full job description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Location: Tinton Falls, New Jersey

Type: Temporary, 1 - 2 months (temporary maternity coverage)

Compensation: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour

Contractor Work Model: Onsite (Tinton Falls, NJ) Note: Remote work is not available.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Human Resources Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Head of Human Resources and supported with two other HR staff members.

  • Significant concentration on employee leave management and communicating with employees on a leave of absence. (processing FMLA, NJFLA, FLI, TDI, etc.)

  • Assist with administering FMLA and leave of absence programs, ensuring compliance and proper documentation

  • Help process and respond to unemployment claims and related inquiries

  • Process employment verifications and maintain accurate employee records

  • Partner with managers to address performance concerns and implement corrective actions

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Maintain organized documentation related to employee relations, leave administration, and compliance

  • Provide HR support to a field-based workforce

Human Resources Manager Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of HR "generalist" experience from a fast-paced environment

  • Strong background in Employee Relations and leave administration

  • Experience handling workplace investigations and disciplinary actions

  • Knowledge of unemployment claims and employment verifications

  • Experience supporting union employees strongly preferred

  • Ability to work independently with minimal training or ramp-up time

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • High level of discretion and professionalism

Human Resources Manager Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related is highly preferred

  • Experience in construction, transportation, or similar field-based industries

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) a plus

Human Resources Manager Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Human Resources Generalist experience.

  • Strong experience administering FMLA, leave of absence programs, and employee relations matters.

  • Experience handling workplace investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance management issues.

  • Knowledge of unemployment claims and employment verifications.

  • Experience supporting union employees preferred.

  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • High level of discretion and professionalism.

  • Bachelor's degree and/or HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.

  • Experience supporting construction, transportation, or other field-based workforces is preferred

Human Resources Manager Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related is highly preferred

  • Experience in construction, transportation, or similar field-based industries
