Job Description
Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Network Technician II to support the day-to-day operations of an enterprise network infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and monitoring the University's network and telecommunications environment. The role requires a strong customer-service mindset and hands-on experience supporting LAN/WAN connectivity, desktop systems, voice/data communications, network hardware, and end-user support. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded IT professional who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, working directly with users, and supporting enterprise network operations.
Responsibilities
- Configure, install, test, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain network hardware and software
- Support LAN/WAN infrastructure, voice and data communications systems, desktop hardware, and peripheral devices
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, telecommunications, and remote access issues
- Monitor network performance and respond to outages or service disruptions
- Restart and recover network services following interruptions using diagnostic tools and software
- Provide Tier II technical support for network, desktop, and telecommunications-related incidents
- Track, document, and resolve support requests through the help desk ticketing system
- Perform routine network administration activities including:
- User account provisioning and deprovisioning
- Access management and permissions
- Hardware and software inventory management
- Security policy compliance
- Assist with software updates, hardware upgrades, equipment deployments, and desktop migrations
- Run system backups and support disaster recovery initiatives
- Train and support end users on hardware and software functionality
- Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal IT teams on network projects and infrastructure improvements
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, troubleshooting efforts, and operational procedures
Skills and Requirements
Must Haves

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience

At least 2 years of experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure, desktop support, or telecommunications environments

Strong understanding of:

TCP/IP

DNS

DHCP

VLANs

Routing & Switching

LAN/WAN technologies

Experience troubleshooting network connectivity and telecommunications issues

Experience supporting network hardware, desktop systems, and peripheral devices

Familiarity with Active Directory user administration and access management

Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to work directly with end users and technical teams to resolve issues

Experience documenting support activities and maintaining inventory records Certifications

CCNA preferred
-
Network+ preferred
-
Candidates actively pursuing networking certifications strongly encouraged
Plusses
- Healthcare or hospital IT experience
- Experience supporting Cisco networking environments
- Exposure to wireless networking technologies
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
- Experience with network security concepts and firewalls
- Previous experience in a large enterprise environment
- Candidates demonstrating strong initiative, curiosity, and a desire for long-term growth within networking and infrastructure operations
