Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire a Business Analys who will serve as the bridge between Accounting Operations and a full-stack software development team, supporting internally developed billing and cash-management applications. The role is highly focused on understanding accounting processes, gathering business requirements, and translating those needs into technical solutions that improve efficiency and support modernization efforts. What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day: Partner with Accounting, Billing, Collections, and Cash Operations teams to understand business processes, identify pain points, and gather requirements for system enhancements. Support and enhance internally developed applications used for billing, cash collections, accounts receivable, and cash-management functions. Analyze production issues, troubleshoot application defects, and work closely with developers to prioritize bug fixes and enhancements. Write and refine user stories, business requirements, and detailed acceptance criteria for development work. Create Gherkin-based acceptance criteria and scenarios that QA teams can leverage for testing and validation. Participate in backlog grooming sessions, sprint planning, and Agile ceremonies with developers and QA teams. Review workflows related to invoice generation, account balances, payment applications, collections activity, reconciliation processes, and delinquency management. Collaborate with developers to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions. Validate system functionality and assist with user acceptance testing for new features and enhancements. Document existing and future-state business processes as applications are modernized. Learn and become a subject matter expert on the organization's existing custom-developed accounting applications. Support enterprise modernization initiatives as the organization transitions legacy systems to newer technologies and AI-enabled development practices. Work with stakeholders to evaluate new business requirements for future lines of business and system implementations.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of Business Analyst experience Strong understanding of basic accounting concepts Billing, cash collections, cash operations, or accounts receivable Experience writing and grooming: User stories Business requirements Acceptance criteria Understanding of Gherkin (or similar tool) and how QA teams use it to create or execute test cases Experience working with APIs SQL experience/familiarity Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience/familiarity
