Summary About the Position: Located within the Huntington District Corps of Engineers, where you will function as the primary project field office employee providing administrative and clerical support in the areas of budgeting, purchasing, property control, personnel actions, data processing, reporting, Corps of Engineers Financial Management System (CEFMS), and other project office operations. Responsibilities GS-05 Collecting technical or program data into electronic databases. GS-05 Reviewing applications, forms, or incoming requests for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with straightforward regulations. GS-06 Assists by answering routine inquiries from the public and internal staff regarding standard program guidelines, policies, and procedures. GS-06 Develops data for various funding programs and monitors ongoing budget execution to track obligations and expenditures against established financial plans. Gs-07 Coordinates general office operations by overseeing junior clerical staff, managing physical and digital files and correspondence, routing phone calls, and operating office automation systems to maintain efficient daily workflows GS-07 Performs routine administrative duties to including tracking personnel actions, assisting with summer hire recruitment, serving as the project timekeeper, and coordinating employee training in accordance with established regulations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. This position requires a typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5 minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. Specialized Experience GS-05: One year of specialized experience which includes: assists in performing general office support duties and administrative work ; maintaining files and records; perform routine administrative time and attendance ; and assist with basic budget and expenditure tasks . This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Successfully completed four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Experience as described above, but less than one year; and have some education above the high school level but less than required above. You must compute the percentage of the requirements, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of education by 60. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify.). (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Specialized Experience GS-06:One year of specialized experience which includes:supporting administrative operations and facility budgets, tracking purchasing and supplies, assisting time and attendance .This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05) Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Specialized Experience GS-07:One year of specialized experience which includes: Independently manages administrative operations and records management; Oversees budgets and tracts expenditures; and manages timekeeper issues and resolve attendance issues .This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. This is a developmental position up to the full performance level, GS-07. Noncompetitive promotion to the full performance level is authorized.
