Your Opportunity
Your role as a Senior Architect is to apply superior client service skills and project management best practices, delivering work that meets project requirements, exceeds client expectations, and meets project financial and other objectives. Working within our Buildings Government Service team, you will contribute to project delivery standards and work processes, provide quality control, workload forecasting, and financial performance accountability. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required.
Your Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.

Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.

Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocations to ensure successful execution.

Collaborate with project leaders, design partners, peers, contractors, and other project stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success metrics, and develop innovative and practical solutions, and meet the project's conditions of satisfaction.

Lead cross-functional teams, facilitating communication and collaboration to achieve project milestones.

Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively.

Conduct regular project status meetings and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders.

Mentor junior staff and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery processes.
-
Engage with external partners, including vendors and regulatory agencies, to ensure compliance and integration of project design.

Establish relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure design alignment with project objectives.

Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project requirements are met.

Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to assess project variables and develop reliable design solutions independently.

Prepare detailed design documents, specifications, and reports.

Ensure compliance with design standards and regulations.

Participate in/lead project meetings and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Manage and plan the resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for projects.

Effectively delegate work to production support staff.

Nurture existing client relationships and proactively pursue opportunities for new business.

Develop project proposals and participate in project pursuits.

Develop and deliver project-related client presentations.

Maintain awareness of operational, technical, or regulatory changes within the A&E industry, disseminate such knowledge to staff and firm, and integrate it into existing processes and standards.

Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, and partner firms in the local and regional A/E industry.

Ability to travel both domestically & internationally.

Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, Newforma, and Bluebeam.
Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Architecture.
-
Minimum of 10 years of experience.
-
Registered Architect license is required.
-
LEED Certification preferred.

Pay Range:
-
Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, ME, NY, VA Areas-$103,100.00 - $154,700.00 Annually
-
Locations in WA, DC & Various CA, MA, VA Areas-$121,700.00 - $182,500.00 Annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees (working at least 20 hours per week) have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).
Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
