Description

We are looking for a Leasing Consultant to support leasing operations for a residential community in Northridge, California. This contract position with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong first impressions, guiding prospective residents through the rental process, and delivering organized administrative support. The person in this role will help convert inquiries into completed leases while ensuring each step of the resident journey is handled accurately and professionally.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome prospective residents, introduce community features, and provide informative property tours tailored to individual housing needs.

  • Gather applicant details, assess leasing preferences, and document prospect information accurately to support qualification decisions.

  • Maintain timely communication with prospective residents through follow-up outreach designed to encourage applications and move-ins.

  • Prepare and process leasing documents, including applications, income verification records, lease agreements, and related addenda.

  • Assemble move-in materials, coordinate move-in scheduling, and ensure all required paperwork is completed before occupancy.

  • Meet with incoming residents to review lease terms, explain required documents, and support a smooth transition into the community.

  • Manage notice-to-vacate activities by preparing move-out documentation, arranging inspection appointments, and collecting keys at move-out.

  • Keep leasing files organized and up to date while following established property management procedures and documentation standards.

Requirements • At least 2 years of experience in leasing, property administration, or residential property management.

  • Background in presenting rental communities and assisting prospective residents throughout the leasing cycle.

  • Working knowledge of property management practices, lease documentation, and application processing.

  • Experience using Yardi Software or similar property management systems.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with prospects and residents.

  • High level of organization and attention to detail when handling multiple leases and resident records.
