Watteredge, LLC – Avon Lake, OH

Full-Time | On-Site

Watteredge is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This position is ideal for an early-career engineer with some hands-on manufacturing, internship, or co-op experience who is ready to take on greater responsibility and manage projects from concept through completion.

In this role, you'll collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Operations to develop new products and prototypes, support customer requirements, solve manufacturing challenges, and improve existing designs and processes.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and modify 2D and 3D designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and customer specifications.

  • Support projects from concept and design through prototyping, testing, and production.

  • Translate engineering designs into manufacturing drawings, models, specifications, and ERP routings.

  • Review customer design proposals and specifications to evaluate feasibility, cost, manufacturability, and lead times.

  • Prepare technical information for quotes, pricing, and project proposals.

  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis to ensure designs meet specifications and requirements.

  • Participate in prototype fabrication, assembly, testing, and design reviews.

  • Work closely with Production Supervisors and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot production issues and develop practical solutions.

  • Prepare and maintain drawings, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.

  • Ensure designs meet customer requirements and applicable industry standards.

  • Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and manufacturing processes.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within Engineering and Production.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

  • 1 to 3 years of engineering or manufacturing experience; relevant internship or co-op experience may be considered.

  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including 2D and 3D design.

  • Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

  • Exposure to manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with customers, Engineering, Sales, and Production.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • ERP experience preferred; Infor CloudSuite Industrial experience is a plus.

  • Project management experience or exposure preferred.
