Epic Grand Central Analyst

Job Description

IG is looking for an Epic analyst who understands the operational side of hospital throughput, not just the technology. The ideal candidate has experience supporting patient flow, bed placement, transfer center operations, ADT workflows, and capacity management initiatives. Someone with an Epic Grand Central background would be a strong match, especially if they've partnered with nursing leadership, patient placement teams, transport, environmental services, or transfer center staff. Candidates who understand how patient movement impacts both hospital operations and billing outcomes will stand out. They need someone who can connect workflow optimization, operational efficiency, and Epic build to improve the overall patient experience and hospital throughput.

Skills and Requirements

• Epic Certification in applicable module
• 3+ years of healthcare IT, application analyst, or systems support experience
• Experience with patient flow, capacity management, ADT workflows, or hospital operations
• Experience with application build, configuration, workflow analysis, and production support
• Strong understanding of patient movement, transfers, admissions, discharges, and throughput processes
• Ability to gather requirements and translate operational needs into system solutions
• Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills
• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Epic Grand Central certification or experience
• Nursing, patient access, bed management, transfer center, or hospital operations experience
• Experience supporting environmental services, patient transport, or capacity management workflows
• Experience with billing-related workflows and ADT-driven revenue cycle processes
• 2+ years of project management experience
• Experience working with integrated systems beyond Epic
• Experience supporting large healthcare organizations or hospital systems
