Job Description

The Emulation & Prototyping Hardware Support Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering emulation hardware support projects across engineering, IT, facilities, and vendor teams. This role ensures Veloce emulation and prototyping platforms are deployed, maintained, upgraded, and supported on schedule, within scope, and with minimal disruption to our customers' engineering users. The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with hands-on understanding of hardware labs, data center operations, and semiconductor emulation environments. This is a high visibility, globally scoped contract role operating across multiple sites and time zones. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Project & Program Management  Own end-to-end project execution for emulation and prototype hardware deployments, upgrades, migrations, and decommissions. GCIE Infrastructure Projects  Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and risk registers.  Coordinate cross-functional teams including Emulation, IT, Facilities, Network, Security, and Vendors.  Track dependencies, manage change requests, and communicate project status to stakeholders. Emulation Hardware & Lab Support  Coordinate site inspections to ensure customer sites are prepared for successful hardware deployment — assessing power, cooling, physical space, and network readiness before each installation.  Manage support activities for emulation and prototype platforms (Strato product family, Primo CS product family, ProFPGA-CS product family).  Coordinate hardware installs, rack/stack, power, cooling, cabling, and network connectivity.  Oversee hardware break/fix, RMA processes, and vendor escalations.  Ensure lab readiness, access control, and compliance with safety and security requirements. Infrastructure & Operations  Partner with IT teams on OS provisioning, firmware updates, storage, and network integration.  Support data center and lab migrations (on-premises, colocation, or hybrid environments).  Ensure systems meet performance, availability, and reliability expectations.  Drive standardization and documentation of emulation infrastructure processes. Stakeholder & Vendor Management  Act as the primary point of contact for emulation hardware support projects.  Manage relationships with EDA vendors and hardware suppliers.  Lead regular syncs, issue reviews, and post-mortems.  Communicate clearly with engineering leadership, sales teams, and end users. Process Improvement & Reporting  Define KPIs for project delivery, system availability, and support responsiveness.  Identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.  Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and asset tracking.

Skills and Requirements

 Education: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience (10+ years in hardware operations / project roles).  5+ years of project management experience in hardware, infrastructure, or lab environments.  Hands-on exposure to semiconductor emulation or large-scale computer hardware platforms.  Strong understanding of data center or lab operations (power, cooling, rack/stack, networking).  Experience managing cross-functional technical teams across multiple sites. Technical Skills  Strong competence in large-scale computer hardware installations — rack/stack, cabling, power, and connectivity in lab or data center environments.  Familiarity with emulation platforms (Veloce Strato, Primo-CS, ProFPGA-CS or equivalent).  Basic to mid-level Linux administration.  Working knowledge of global compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2).  PMP, PMI-ACP, or Agile certification — or equivalent demonstrated experience.
