Schedule

7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

No regularly scheduled weekends
On-Call Requirements

Rotating weekend and holiday call coverage

Approximately 10-12 call days per month, depending on staffing levels and vacation schedules

Position Summary
As an Interventional Technologist, you will perform a variety of specialized imaging procedures that require independent judgment, technical expertise, and attention to patient safety. Working closely with physicians and care teams, you will help provide accurate diagnostic information and support minimally invasive procedures that improve patient outcomes.
What You'll Do
-
Perform interventional imaging procedures while utilizing proper positioning techniques and radiographic principles.

Administer contrast according to established protocols under the direction of the proceduralist.

Prepare patients for procedures, monitor patient status, and ensure a safe, positive experience throughout their care.

Verify patient identity using two patient identifiers and follow universal protocol and time-out procedures.

Review patient histories, physician orders, and departmental protocols to ensure optimal image quality and procedural outcomes.

Maintain a sterile environment and support aseptic technique during all procedures.

Educate patients about their procedures, answer questions, and help ease concerns with clear, compassionate communication.

Accurately document patient information and procedure details within the electronic medical record.

Ensure exams are properly coded, tracked, archived, and charged through departmental systems.

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and fellow technologists to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.

Assist other imaging areas with general radiographic procedures as needed.

Education
- Graduate of an ARRT-approved School of Radiologic Technology or an accredited Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program.
Licensure & Certifications
Candidates must possess one of the following credentials:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification
-
Radiographer License (Maryland)
-
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
-
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
Additional Requirements
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
-
Must meet current American Heart Association (AHA) standards, including both didactic and hands-on skills demonstration.

Required within 30 days of hire if not already obtained.
