Job Title: Engineering Test Technician- Prototype/R&D

Direct Hire position

$95-115K Salary + Equity

Torrance, CA

Job Description

Join our team to support the build, integration, testing, and validation of next-generation energy hardware. Collaborate with Product Development engineers to construct prototype electromechanical systems, perform high-quality wiring and assembly work, support development testing, troubleshoot hardware issues, and provide critical feedback to enhance future product designs.

Responsibilities

  • Build prototype electromechanical systems with precision.

  • Perform high-quality wiring and assembly work.

  • Support development testing and troubleshoot hardware issues.

  • Provide feedback to improve future product designs.

  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings independently.

  • Utilize engineering test equipment and instrumentation effectively.

  • Ensure compliance with high-voltage safety practices and LOTO procedures.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and nonconformance reporting.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Engineering Technician or similar role.

  • Proficiency in electromechanical assembly and electrical wiring.

  • Experience building precision hardware to print in industries such as energy storage or automotive.

  • Ability to interpret GD&T, BOMs, and work instructions.

  • Hands-on experience with precision assembly including harnessing and fasteners.

  • Experience with DAQ systems, oscilloscopes, sensors, and power analyzers.

  • Knowledge of ESD requirements and high-voltage safety practices.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating within AS9100 or IATF quality systems.

  • Familiarity with FAI, traceability programs, and nonconformance documentation.

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification or experience.

  • J-STD-001 experience or certification.

  • Soldering and electrical rework experience.

  • Experience working on battery energy storage systems or aerospace hardware.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $115000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
