About GA-EMS Engineering

GA-EMS engineers support the development and enhancement of first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power systems, while contributing to some of the most challenging engineering programs in the industry.

Our work supports programs and applications including the U.S. Navy's Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE), as well as critical fleet, space, satellite, missile defense, power and energy, process, and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide.

Engineers at GA-EMS have the opportunity to work across the entire product lifecycle—from concept and design through integration, testing, qualification, production, deployment, and sustainment.

What You’ll Do:

Depending on your discipline, experience, and level of responsibility, you may:

  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and improve complex engineering systems and technologies.

  • Evaluate engineering requirements and develop practical solutions to challenging technical problems.

  • Analyze, troubleshoot, test, and resolve complex system and equipment issues.

  • Apply engineering and scientific principles to support product and system development.

  • Lead or support cross-functional engineering projects and technical deliverables.

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, program management, customers, and other organizations.

  • Develop technical analyses, documentation, specifications, drawings, and recommendations.

  • Present technical findings and solutions to engineering teams, leadership, customers, and other stakeholders.

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to designers, technicians, and less-experienced engineers.

  • Support system integration, verification, validation, qualification, and lifecycle activities.

  • Contribute to the development of next-generation technologies across defense, space, energy, and advanced technology applications.

The scope and level of responsibility will vary based on the position, qualifications, and experience of the selected candidate.

Job Qualifications:

Engineer:

  • Typically requires a bachelors degree, masters degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; four or more years of experience with a bachelors degree or two or more years of experience with a masters degree. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education.

  • Must have a complete understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory, experience demonstrating a broad application of those concepts, and expanding knowledge of principles, concepts, theory, and practices in related technical specialties.

  • Must possess the ability to:

  • Understand new concepts quickly.

  • Apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.

  • Organize, schedule, and coordinate work phases.

  • Determine the appropriate approach at the task level or, with assistance, at the project level.

  • Provide solutions to a range of complex problems.

  • Must have excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Must be able to perform complex tasks in one engineering area.

  • Must be able to lead a team of less experienced professional employees on semi-routine tasks.

  • Able to work extended hours as required.

  • A Professional Engineering License is desirable.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is desired.
