Duties & Responsibilities of Assistant Principal:

  • Assists in the general administration of the school and serves as the principal when the principal is absent.

  • Supports the development of positive community interaction by working cooperatively with school personnel, students and the community.

  • Assists with a variety of building programs, such as student-teacher programs, school improvement programs, school safety, instructional programs, and behavior.

  • Manages and implements the middle/high school discipline policies with follow-up on the students for both school and bus regulations.

  • Collaborates with mental health staff to support students.

  • Monitors and remedies attendance problems in conjunction with the school nurse(s), counseling department and attendance officer(s).

  • Supervises the lunchroom and lunch monitors in the middle high schools.

  • Supervises bus unloading/loading.

  • Assists with plans for faculty meetings and other professional meetings.

  • Assists the principal in improving and coordinating instruction through orientation and evaluation of staff.

  • Assists the principal with the development of the master schedule.

  • Serves as a member of the following teams: District Administrative Team, School Level Safety Team(s), District Level Safety Team, Shared Decision Making Team and others as assigned.

  • Develops goals for his/her performance.

  • Engages in professional development.

  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as supervisor may assign.

Duties & Responsibilities of Athletic Director

  • Organizes and administers interscholastic athletics programs for the District.

  • Provides leadership in the selection, assignment and evaluation of coaches.

  • Assumes responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all interscholastic athletics events.

  • Coordinates and oversees:

o all supervisory and support personnel at home interscholastic athletics events.

o transportation for interscholastic athletics contest participants

o field and gymnasium usage schedules for all teams

o athletic awards presentations

o interscholastic athletics budget

o interscholastic athletic signups

o internal and external building use

o concussion management testing

o sport sign up nights

  • Sets field and gymnasium usage schedules for all teams.

  • Coordinates the Athletic Placement Process

  • Collaborates with the Director of Facilities and Athletic Coordinator to maintain the safety of all interscholastic athletics facilities, equipment and fields.

  • Attends all local, section and state level meetings.

  • Consults with the building principal when a student violates training rules.

  • Consults with school nurses on issues of medical eligibility for student/athletes.

  • Media relations

  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as supervisor may assign.
