Full job description
About The Role As an Account Executive at Nira, you’ll play a critical role in growing our customer base of renewable energy Developers/IPPs. Your focus will be new sales —proactively identifying, engaging, and converting high-potential prospects into long-term customers. You’ll become an expert in interconnection, positioning Nira as a strategic advantage for developers looking to build profitable projects. This role is ideal for someone who likes understanding and solving complex customer problems, is deeply curious about the grid, and is intent on shaping the future of clean energy. What You'll Do
- Drive new business from renewable energy developers to achieve a $2M annual quota.
- Own the full sales cycle—prospect, qualify, demo, negotiate, and close.
- Research and target renewable energy developers using a strategic and data-driven approach
- Engage with Transmission, Interconnection, and Development teams to understand their pain points
- Educate prospects on how Nira can de-risk and accelerate their project development
- Partner with internal teams (Product, Engineering, Data) to relay customer insights and refine messaging
- Track pipeline activity and maintain accurate forecasts in the CRM
- Build trust along with a strong pipeline of deals through outbounds, industry events, and relationships.
- Become a student of interconnection and transmission planning — able to speak credibly with technical buyers.
- Partner closely with product and customer success to ensure smooth onboarding and long-term adoption.
- Work with the sales leadership team to refine our sales playbook.
About You
-
2–7 years of experience in SaaS or energy sales (startup experience a plus). • Either: (a) Background in renewable development or interconnection, OR (b) proven ability to sell into a technical market without prior domain experience.
-
You’re energized by outbound prospecting and breaking into new accounts
-
You have (or are excited to develop) a strong understanding of transmission and grid interconnection
-
You’re a clear, persuasive communicator who can navigate technical conversations with confidence
-
You’re self-motivated, organized, and thrive in fast-moving environments
-
You care deeply about accelerating the energy transition and making a real impact
-
A track record of beating quota, ideally closing $500k–$2M+ ARR per year.
-
Hustle + grit: you create opportunities.
-
Desire to work at a startup — resourceful, adaptable, and coachable.
-
Excellent written, verbal, and relationship-building skills.
What We Offer
- $150,000-$200,000 base salary
- Uncapped commission
- Equity in a fast-growing climate tech startup
- Remote-first culture with a growing presence in NYC
- Health, dental, vision, and 401k.
