Job Summary
Experienced Data Center Technician responsible for the installation, deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server, storage, and network infrastructure within enterprise and hyperscale data center environments. Skilled in rack and stack operations, hardware deployment, cabling installation, system diagnostics, and infrastructure support while adhering to industry best practices, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Key Responsibilities
-
Perform rack and stack installation of servers, switches, storage arrays, PDUs, and related data center equipment.
-
Deploy, configure, and commission new hardware according to engineering and customer specifications.
-
Conduct server installation, hardware upgrades, and component replacements including CPUs, memory, SSDs/HDDs, NICs, GPUs, power supplies, and motherboard assemblies.

Troubleshoot server hardware, operating system, and network connectivity issues to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

Diagnose and resolve faults using remote management tools such as iDRAC, iLO, IPMI, and vendor diagnostic utilities.

Install, route, label, test, and maintain structured cabling infrastructure.

Support network deployments utilizing:
-
Copper cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A)
-
Single-mode fiber (SMF)
-
Multimode fiber (MMF)
-
DAC and AOC cabling solutions
-
Perform cable tracing, documentation, certification, and remediation activities.
-
Install and troubleshoot network equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, and optical transceivers.
-
Verify connectivity through cable testing, link validation, and network diagnostics.
-
Manage hardware inventory, asset tracking, receiving, staging, and decommissioning activities.
-
Perform preventative maintenance and routine health checks on data center infrastructure.
-
Support break-fix operations and respond to incident tickets in accordance with service-level agreements (SLAs).
-
Follow change management procedures and maintain accurate deployment documentation.
-
Work closely with engineering, network, and facilities teams to support data center operations and expansion projects.
-
Ensure compliance with data center safety, security, and operational policies.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
