Description

The Arc Mid-Hudson has a new full-time position available on our Transportation team for a Regional Supervisor/ 19A Examiner. This position, reporting to the Assistant Director, is based in Kingston but will require r egular travel between all assigned Transportation Department locations (Ulster, Greene, and Putnam Counties).

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in performing tasks in the following areas: Supervisory; Program Policy and Procedure Compliance; Customer Service; Operational Support; Leadership; and Transportation Operations. This role provides regional operational support to the Transportation Department by promoting consistency in operations, supervisory practices, policy implementation, and regulatory compliance throughout Ulster, Greene, and Putnam Counties.

The successful candidate must possess detailed knowledge of Agency transportation operations, applicable Public Transportation operations, Agency policies and procedures, Article 19-A requirements, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations governing transportation services; must possess the ability to analyze operational issues, recommend solutions, communicate effectively, mentor supervisory staff, and provide leadership throughout the Transportation Department.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Assuming the full supervisory authority, responsibilities, operational functions, and decision-making responsibilities during planned or unplanned absences to ensure uninterrupted transportation operations and regulatory compliance.

  • Supervise, coach and mentor of assigned staff.

  • Identify operational inconsistencies, compliance concerns and communicate opportunities for improvement. Assists with implementing operational improvements and corrective actions as approved or directed by the Assistant Director of Transportation.

  • Assist other Transportation Supervisors with audits, investigations, compliance activities, operational reviews, and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of Transportation.

  • Responsible for maintaining effective communication with Transportation Supervisors and the Assistant Director of Transportation regarding operational concerns affecting Transportation Department operations.

  • Duties may include, but are not limited to, clerical work (not specified above) and driving assignments.

  • Respond to after-hours operational issues when serving as the acting Transportation Supervisor during planned or unplanned supervisory absences or as directed by the Assistant Director of Transportation.

HOURS: 40/Monday through Friday, must be flexible (may include some weekend hours)

STARTING SALARY: $ 67,000 to $ 75,000 per year

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and 2-3 years’ supervisory experience.

  • A valid New York State Class A, B, or C Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger endorsement; driving record acceptable to Arc Mid-Hudson, NYSDOT and FTA, along with a current certification by the Department of Motor Vehicles as a 19A Certified Examiner.

  • Must possess strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to respond to occasional after-hours concerns, including evenings and weekends.

  • Regular travel between all assigned Transportation Department locations (Ulster, Greene, and Putnam Counties) is an essential function and required condition of employment for this position.
