Job Title: Janitorial Worker Job Description

This position is responsible for maintaining building, grounds, and office areas in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition. Working under close supervision with detailed instructions, the janitorial worker performs a variety of routine cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and polishing to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean assigned areas in accordance with established standards and procedures.

• Sweep, mop, dust, and vacuum offices, hallways, entrances, and other designated spaces.

• Polish furniture, fixtures, and trimmings to maintain a neat and professional appearance.

• Report items needing repair and any hazardous conditions requiring correction to the supervisor promptly.

• Follow established antiseptic techniques and use appropriate cleaning solutions to wash fixtures and restrooms.

• Gather and dispose of trash from designated areas, and wash and reline waste containers as needed.

• Observe all applicable laws, regulations, and company obligations whenever conducting business on behalf of the organization.

• Work safely at all times in accordance with established operating procedures and safety practices.

• Clean carpets as necessary using appropriate equipment and methods.

• Perform other cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.

• Ability to use power cleaning equipment safely and effectively.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including lifting above shoulder level when required.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

• Ability to work extended hours as required.

• Valid driver's license when operating a company vehicle.

• May require a valid California driver's license with a good driving record verified by the company.

• U.S. citizenship is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial work, cleaning, or housekeeping is beneficial.

• Comfort working across different types of facilities, including office spaces, production floors, and airplane hangars.

• Reliability and strong attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety.

Work Environment

The janitorial worker will be assigned to a variety of buildings, including office spaces, production floors, and airplane hangars. The role is performed on a first shift schedule, typically from 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Work involves regular use of cleaning chemicals and power equipment, and requires adherence to safety procedures in industrial and office settings. The environment includes both carpeted and hard-surface floors, restrooms, and common areas, with a focus on maintaining cleanliness and sanitation throughout all assigned facilities.

This is a Contract position based out of Adelanto, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
