Full job description

Apply Job Type Full-time

Description Fervo Energy is applying first-principles engineering and a manufacturing mindset to geothermal power — an industry that has operated the same way for decades. We are not building one-off power plants. We are building a product: GeoBlock, a standardized, repeatable geothermal generation unit designed to get cheaper, faster, and more reliable with every iteration.

Supply Chain is not a support function here. As Fervo scales, our job is shifting from spot sourcing for one-off needs to a supply chain built for a known, recurring cadence — with the right carriers, routes, and import processes lined up in advance so equipment lands where and when it's needed.

Fervo's Logistics team manages the end-to-end movement of equipment, materials, and components to active project sites, including drilling rigs and completions programs. The Drilling & Completions Logistics Coordinator owns the trucking and vendor relationships that keep drill pipe, BHA components, mud motors, MWD tools, roller reamers, and wellhead and completion equipment moving on schedule. This person works hand-in-hand with rig and completions site teams to understand upcoming material needs, builds and manages a reliable carrier and vendor pool, implements processes that keep the flow of D&C materials smooth and predictable, and analyzes shipment patterns to find cost-reduction opportunities.

Requirements Responsibilities Vendor & Carrier Relationships

  • Build and maintain relationships with trucking carriers and product/equipment vendors supporting drilling and completions operations.
  • Develop and manage a reliable D&C carrier pool; negotiate rates and service terms, and onboard new vendors as needs grow.
  • Monitor carrier performance and address recurring issues (mechanical breakdowns, missed pickups, detention) directly with vendors, escalating and documenting patterns as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for D&C carriers and vendors on scheduling, documentation, and issue resolution.

Site Coordination & Delivery

  • Partner directly with rig and completions site teams to understand upcoming tool and material needs and delivery windows.
  • Coordinate multi-stop, time-critical, and ASAP shipments (e.g., rig-critical tool recoveries) to avoid material-driven downtime.
  • Track shipments in real time and proactively communicate status, delays, or exceptions to site teams and internal stakeholders.

Process Improvement & Cost Analysis

  • Design and implement standard processes for D&C material movement — dispatch procedures, load scheduling, documentation, and exception handling — to improve consistency and reliability.
  • Log, track, and resolve non-conformance issues tied to carrier performance and shipment exceptions.
  • Analyze D&C movement patterns (lanes, frequency, mode, carrier performance) to identify cost-reduction and consolidation opportunities; track spend against budget and benchmark rates across carriers.
  • Maintain accurate shipment and PO records in internal trackers and shared logs.

Qualifications Required

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field — or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in oilfield, drilling & completions logistics, trucking, or supply chain (oil & gas strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing trucking carrier and vendor relationships, including rate negotiation.
  • Experience coordinating time-critical, multi-stop shipments to active well or rig sites.
  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable analyzing shipment data to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; strong Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work closely with site teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborative, forward-thinking, self-motivated team player comfortable implementing new processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and comfort applying them to data analysis and reporting workflows.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with drilling and completions equipment and terminology (drill pipe, BHA, MWD tools, mud motors, wellhead equipment).
  • Experience with an ERP or logistics tracking platform, and knowledge of oversize/overweight permitting for heavy haul trucking.
  • Experience running RFQ/tender processes for trucking and oilfield logistics services.
