Full job description

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks a board-certified thoracic surgeon to build and lead a new lung transplant program. This is a rare opportunity to shape every element clinical protocols, multidisciplinary team, referral network, and UNOS certification backed by an academic medical center and Arizona's largest health system. Ideal candidates bring fellowship training in thoracic surgery, lung transplant experience, and the vision to establish a program serving patients across the Southwest. Minimum Qualifications:

  • American Board of Surgery & American Board of Thoracic Surgery certified or eligible

  • 5 years of experience or more required

  • Desire to practice within an academic and research setting, including teaching residents, fellows, and medical students

  • All aspects of general thoracic surgery with lung transplant (All aspects of general thoracic surgery with a focus on chest wall, esophageal, lung transplantation and lung surgery and diaphragm)

  • Experience in minimally invasive and robotic techniques

  • Experienced Clinical Faculty and Graduating Thoracic Surgeons with interests in clinical academic practice are encouraged to apply
