Description

The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The court system employs nearly 3,300 personnel who support 406 elected justices, judges, and circuit court clerks.

The Montgomery Circuit Court, 21st Judicial Circuit, Division 2, has an immediate need for a Legal Assistant. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for providing paralegal support to the Kentucky District, Family, or Circuit Courts.

Examples of Duties or Responsibilities of this Classification:

  • Provide legal research assistance to courts.

  • Research law, investigate facts, and prepare documents.

  • Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, and briefs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Associates Degree – Paralegal

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:NONE

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:H.S. Diploma and two (2) years of related legal office experience

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):NONE

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in an office setting and requires regular attendance on-site at the designated work location. Due to the nature of the job duties and responsibilities, this position is not authorized for virtual work.
