Full job description

Are you an organized, proactive purchasing professional who knows how to keep materials moving, build strong vendor relationships, and keep projects on track? Williams Plumbing is looking for a Buyer to manage purchasing and material coordination across our operations.

You’ll work closely with vendors, warehouse and field teams, and management to negotiate pricing, manage purchase orders and deliveries, and ensure our teams have the right materials at the right time and cost.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage purchasing of materials and supplies, including purchase orders from creation through completion.

  • Build vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.

  • Coordinate deliveries with vendors, warehouse staff, field teams, and project stakeholders.

  • Track purchases, costs, delivery dates, invoices, and other procurement documentation.

  • Manage material returns and related vendor credits and paperwork.

  • Support inventory billing, invoice reconciliation, and job costing.

  • Monitor material pricing, availability, lead times, freight costs, and market trends.

  • Research new materials, tools, and equipment for performance, reliability, safety, and cost.

  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing and warehousing processes.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the mechanical contracting, construction, HVAC, and/or plumbing industry.

  • Knowledge of construction/trade materials and supply chain processes.

  • Experience managing a high volume of purchase orders and competing deadlines.

  • Understanding of shipping, freight, logistics, lead times, invoicing, and job costing.

  • Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office.

  • Strong organization, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
