Job Description

Insight Global is currently seeking a Project Assistant to join a client in the commercial construction industry. This individual will work closely with Project Managers to support the successful execution of commercial construction projects by maintaining project documentation, coordinating administrative tasks, and ensuring critical project information remains organized and up to date. Daily responsibilities include managing emails and correspondence, updating project records, processing RFIs and submittals, maintaining document control systems, reviewing project files, and assisting with scheduling and project tracking activities. The Project Assistant will serve as a key organizational resource for the project team, helping keep Project Managers focused on project execution while ensuring deadlines and documentation requirements are met. This role is primarily office-based and requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, coachable, proactive, and eager to develop a long-term career within commercial construction. This position offers a strong career path into Assistant Project Management, Project Management, and future leadership opportunities through the organization's established culture of internal promotion and employee development.

Skills and Requirements

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced construction environment
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
  • Experience with PDF management, markup, and document control
  • Strong email communication and correspondence management skills
  • General computer proficiency and willingness to learn new software systems
  • Ability to maintain project documentation and administrative records accurately
  • Professional attitude with a strong work ethic and sense of ownership
  • Ability to support Project Managers and keep projects organized and on track

  • Construction Management degree or related education
  • Experience supporting commercial construction projects
  • Experience with project coordination, project administration, or project assistance
  • Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
  • Experience working with commercial ceilings, drywall, specialty interiors, or subcontractors
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, Autodesk products, or Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
  • Prior estimating or material takeoff experience
  • Experience supporting Project Managers in a construction environment
