Job Description:
The Senior Staff Engineer is responsible for the development anddeployment of strategic electronic controls solutions. It includescustomer, product and system-level requirements development andvalidation. Must be capable of effectively assessing and mitigatingrisk across all levels and multiple disciplines.
Key Responsibilities: Develop specifications, statements of work, and action plans tosource, design, develop, and release electro-mechanicalcomponents for conventional and electrified propulsion systems Develop, oversee, and serve as a subject matter expert on theexecution of validation plans for components and systems inlaboratory, test cell, vehicle environments and with suppliers Prepare and present technical status reports, schedules, andbudgets for a variety of audiences including Executive Staff Proactively identify gaps and risks in the design and validation ofthe components and develop/support/track mitigation plans Provide a high level of oversight and guidance in the root causeinvestigation and resolution of field issues as opportunities withfielded products arise Exercise project leadership in system integration with controlsystems engineering teams Provide advanced product technical support to suppliers,customers and cross functional departments
Key Performance Measures: Decision-making characteristics for the Electromechanicalcomponents with suppliers, source of supply issues, continuousimprovements, and New Product Development initiatives Deliver quality validated components per project milestones Provide programmatic leadership that optimize cost, quality andtiming constraints Frequently sought out as a resource by other team membersand /or functions as a mentor to guide decision making andaction plans

Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering,electrical engineering or similar engineering discipline Proven and successful record of working autonomously withinestablished practices and procedures
Experience: 20+ years of experience with developing electronic controlsystem hardware Experience in the Automotive and Commercial Vehicleapplications Experience with DVP&R development.

Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer that provides componentdesign recommendations and development support Consistently delivers a high level of oversight and guidancewith suppliers and cross functional teams for source ofsupply and warranty issues Frequently works with cross functional teams for componentobsolescence resourcing activities Broad exposure and partnerships with various levels acrossthe organization up through Executive StaffBudget: Ability to manage a small component specific budget.Management scope: No direct reportsInteractions: External interactions with suppliers Internal interactions within engineering and across functionsat various levels of the organization This position must informally lead & mentor other ECHengineers to build organizational capabilityExposure: Engineering, Service, Quality, Ops, Purchasing, Planning,MSS, Supplier, External Customers Broad exposure and partnerships with various levels acrossthe organization up through Executive StaffLocation scope of responsibility: LocallyTravel or Physical Demands:Some travel may be required (Up to 25%)May require international travel.
