The Division Vice President, Chief Medical Executive (CME) is a key member of the Hospital’s Senior Administrative Team with primary activities in medical staff relations. The CME is a key member of the Hospital’s Senior Administrative Team with primary activities in medical staff relations, quality of care, patient safety, care continuity, patient experience, and Division/system leadership. This role reports directly to the Division CMO and works closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Nurse Executive (CNE), and local and Sutter System Quality Teams to ensure the delivery of accessible patient-centered, high-quality, safe and equitable care. The CME plays a vital role in care integration and aligning local initiatives with Division and System strategies. Job Description: EDUCATION:

Doctorate: MD or DO degree

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE: MD-Doctor of Medicine of California

Or DO-Doctor of Osteopathy of California

Or California license eligible

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 12 years recent relevant experience.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Demonstrated outcomes as a thought leader, mentor and listener leading to trusting, collaborative and impactful relationships between administrators and care providers. •

  • Working understanding of using electronic medical records to obtain metrics leading to support of performance improvement, quality and safety. •

  • Demonstrated team leadership and organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. •

  • Action planning skills, interpersonal skills and proven written and verbal communication skills are required. •

  • Flexibility, adaptability, motivation and creativity in dealing with change, timeliness and attention to detail are required as well.

Pay Range is $337,000.00 to $561,700.00 / annual salary The compensation range may vary based on the geographic location where the position is filled. Total compensation considers multiple factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, departmental equity, training, and organizational needs. Base pay is only one component of Sutter Health’s comprehensive total rewards program. Eligible positions also include a comprehensive benefits package.
