Schedule: PRN Shift: Day (United States of America) Address: 9441 HEALTH CENTER DR City: LAND O LAKES State: Florida Postal Code: 34637 Job Description:

  • Researches and enters patient payer information into the database.
  • Dispatches clinical liaison within fifteen minutes of receiving referral.
  • Retrieves necessary preadmission clinical information from fax or other electronic referral systems in a timely manner.
  • Obtains timely and accurate revenue code documentation prior to admission.
  • Inputs pre-admission/admission of patient data in the database accurately and promptly.
  • Works with clinical liaison to convert referrals to admissions.
  • Aggregates clinical and financial information and organizes files for admission.
  • Collaborates with Director of Business Development and Clinical Liaison to ensure prompt and accurate follow-through with referral sources.
  • Sends aggregated admission information to clinical departments once patient admission is confirmed.
  • Maintains currency of referral tracking and ensures timely and accurate reporting.
  • Obtains insurance authorization plans requiring precertification and verifies primary and secondary insurances.
  • Reconciles census and submits by deadline.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Expertise in organization/time management/communication skills [Required]

  • Working knowledge of and ability to navigate software programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word [Required]

  • Working knowledge of and ability to navigate insurer/payer databases [Required]

  • Working knowledge of 3rd Party Contracts [Required]

  • Knowledge of and ability to work with computer programs such as Siemens, HBOC, and/or GE Centricity [Required]

  • Excellent data entry and computer skills [Required]

  • Ability to multitask and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment [Required]

  • Ability to deal effectively with the public. Must be able to respond to patients, physicians, and other customers in a professional and courteous manner during stressful situations [Required]

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays etc. [Required]

  • Ability and willingness to adapt to change [Required]

  • Experience or understanding of benefits reimbursement under the Medicare policies as applied to Long Term Acute Care Hospitals [Preferred]

  • Background in a Financial, Business, or Healthcare-related field [Preferred]

Education:

  • Associate [Preferred]

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

  • 4+ directly related experience. (ie: experience in business office customer service, accounting, healthcare admissions/registration [Required]

Pay Range:
