Job Summary: The Operations Coordinator plays a key operational role within the Parking & Transportation Services department. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day shift operations, supervising assigned staff, and ensuring compliance with parking regulations and customer service standards. The Operations Coordinator works collaboratively with the Assistant Director and Senior Operations Coordinator to maintain operational efficiency and support departmental processes.

Essential Job Functions: Staff Supervision & Training: • Directly supervise Parking & Transportation Specialist and student employees.

  • Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching to ensure staff adhere to policies and perform consistently.
  • Maintain training documentation and assist staff in understanding operational procedures and service expectations.

Daily Operational Oversight: • Manage daily shift operations, including staff scheduling, task coordination, dispatch support, and issue resolution.

  • Support staff in responding to customer inquiries, field incidents, and operational challenges.
  • Ensure smooth operations during high-traffic periods and special events by providing on-the-ground leadership.

Fleet & Equipment Management: • Oversee shift -level fleet and equipment use, including completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, reporting maintenance needs, and ensuring staff have necessary tools and equipment.

  • Assist with minor troubleshooting of devices and vehicles as needed.

Parking Enforcement Support: • Oversee shift-level parking enforcement activities, including issuing citations and documenting compliance.

  • Support departmental KPI tracking by communicating results and holding accountability over own employees from the results of the Senior Operations Coordinator's Citation Audit processes.

Special Event Support: • Assist with setting up and breakdown for special event parking under the direction of the Assistant Director and Senior Operations Coordinator. Support signage, staffing, and traffic control as assigned.

Customer Service & Motorist Assistance: • Provide hands-on support for customer service issues, including vehicle assistance, shuttle operations, and incident response.

  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the Assistant Director for resolution.

Digital Citation Support: • Complete assigned DigiHits tasks and ensure timely and accurate execution under the guidance of departmental leadership.

Minimum Qualifications: • Valid unencumbered Colorado drivers license.

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year of supervisory experience in operations, transportation, parking service, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience training and coaching staff in a customer-facing environment.
  • One (1) year of operational management experience in operations, transportation, parking services, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of experience with cash handling and financial accountability protocols.

Preferred Qualifications: • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Conditions of Employment: • Must maintain a valid unencumbered drivers license.

  • Please note that if offered employment, candidates will be required to furnish a copy of the motor vehicle report (MVR) as part of the background check process.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

Years of experience will be expressed in terms of full-time equivalent service with full-time workload equal to one (1) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) year. Positions working 40 hours or less per week will be pro-rated (30 hrs/wk=0.75 FTE=9 mos credit; 20 hrs/wk=0.5 FTE=6 mos credit; 10 hrs/wk=0.25 FTE=3 mos credit.)
