Job Description
Insight Global is seeking experienced Mechanical Design Engineers to support a leading aerospace company based in Middletown, CT. This position will support the design, development, and sustainment of complex aerospace components and systems used in next-generation propulsion technologies. Engineers will work throughout the full product lifecycle, from concept development and detailed design through manufacturing support, testing, and in-service engineering activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop innovative mechanical design solutions for complex aerospace hardware
- Create and release 3D models, drawings, and engineering documentation
- Support product development through concept, detailed design, validation, and production phases
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, systems, stress, and test engineering teams
- Perform root cause investigations and resolve technical design challenges
- Support design reviews, engineering changes, and product improvement initiatives
- Provide technical recommendations to program stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on product performance and manufacturability
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- P3: 5+ years of mechanical design experience
- P4: 8+ years of mechanical design experience
- Experience with aerospace hardware design, drawings, and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency with NX (Unigraphics) and Teamcenter
- Experience working in a cross-functional engineering environment
- Ability or willingness to obtain a security clearance
- Gas turbine or turbomachinery experience
- High Pressure Compressor experience
- ANSYS or FEA experience
- Experience with engineering change processes
- Model Based Definition (MBD) experience
- SAP experience
