Epic HIM Analyst

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an analyst who understands both the technical and operational side of Health Information Management (HIM). The ideal candidate has experience supporting record management, Release of Information, document imaging, coding workflows, and patient identity management. Strong candidates will understand how patient data moves throughout the healthcare ecosystem and be comfortable managing EMPI integrity, MPI interfaces, duplicate patient resolution, and privacy-sensitive workflows. Candidates with Epic HIM, Identity, ROI, coding, document management, or health information governance experience will stand out. They need someone who can partner closely with HIM leadership while ensuring accurate patient identification, compliant record management, and streamlined access to critical clinical information.

Skills and Requirements

• Epic Certification (HIM, Identity, ROI, or related application preferred)
• 3+ years of Epic analyst, HIM systems, healthcare IT, or application support experience
• Strong understanding of Health Information Management (HIM) workflows
• Experience with Release of Information (ROI), Deficiency Tracking, Chart Tracking, or Document Management workflows
• Knowledge of Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI) management and patient identity workflows
• Experience managing patient record integrity, duplicate patient records, and MPI reconciliation processes
• Understanding of medical record confidentiality, HIPAA, privacy regulations, and information governance
• Experience with workflow analysis, application configuration, testing, and optimization
• Epic Identity Certification
• Coding and Abstracting workflow experience
• Experience with transcription, scanning, and document imaging systems
• Gallery Document Management experience
• Experience managing vendor integrations related to HIM workflows
• Knowledge of MPI interfaces and third-party patient information systems
• 2+ years of project management experience
