TECHNICIAN

Summary

You will serve as a Technician in the Surface Launch Missile Division, Sensors Weapons and Launchers Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER PORT HUENEME DIVISION.

Duties

• You will serve as a Team Lead/Technician and directing complex and intricate operations in the Surface Launch Missile (SLM) field, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, safely, and in accordance with technical directives.
• You will assign specific tasks, demonstrate proper work methods, and provide technical guidance leveraging a deep understanding of ordnance systems and advanced mechanical/electrical skills.
• You will ensure needed documentation, materials, and tools are available, coordinate production work for efficient personnel utilization, and meticulously check work in progress, while fostering a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
• You will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and utilize advanced test and measurement equipment to determine the operational status and serviceability of ordnance components.
• You will analyze test results, identify root causes of malfunctions, and implement effective corrective actions, adjustments, or repairs to ensure proper functioning.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying technical engineering processes, methods, and concepts to lead and mentor team members, evaluate technical documentation, utilize specialized test equipment, conduct maintenance and repair, and resolve engineering issues impacting the development and delivery of ordnance systems in accordance with safety procedures. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
