A Day in the Life

The Acute Surgical business within Medtronic partners with healthcare providers to support patient care through a comprehensive portfolio of surgical technologies. This role supports the full Surgical portfolio, including Stapling, Energy, Electrosurgery, Situate, Access & Instrumentation, and Wound Closure, helping customers optimize product utilization and achieve clinical and operational objectives.

This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States, with preference given to candidates residing in Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, or Utah. The role supports an assigned geographic territory through virtual selling activities, customer engagement, and collaboration with field-based partners. Travel up to 25% is required to support customer meetings, business reviews, training, and team collaboration.

As a Senior Inside Sales Representative, Acute Surgical, you will drive revenue growth and customer retention across an assigned territory through virtual sales execution, account management, and customer education. This role partners closely with field sales, clinical, and commercial teams to expand product adoption, identify new business opportunities, and support customers throughout the sales process.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drive disposable and capital equipment sales growth by managing and expanding business within assigned accounts.

  • Identify, qualify, and close new sales opportunities while maintaining strong retention of existing customers.

  • Promote adoption and utilization of Acute Surgical products across targeted healthcare facilities and stakeholders.

  • Conduct virtual customer meetings, product presentations, and demonstrations to support product awareness and purchasing decisions.

  • Build and maintain relationships with healthcare professionals, supply chain stakeholders, and key decision-makers within assigned accounts.

  • Analyze territory performance and account data to identify growth opportunities and develop targeted sales strategies.

  • Collaborate with field sales, marketing, and cross-functional partners to execute territory plans and customer engagement initiatives.

  • Resolve customer concerns and provide ongoing support to ensure a positive customer experience.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8+ years of relevant sales, customer support, or related experience in medical devices, medtech, healthcare, or life sciences; OR Associate's Degree and 6+ years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales objectives and managing customer relationships within an assigned territory or account base.

  • Experience identifying, developing, and closing sales opportunities while maintaining and growing existing accounts.

  • Ability to analyze account and territory performance data to identify growth opportunities and develop sales strategies.

  • Ability to occasionally travel up to 25% within the assigned territory and for business-related meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device, healthcare, or surgical products sales experience.

  • Experience selling to hospitals, healthcare systems, ambulatory surgery centers, or related clinical environments.

  • Demonstrated success driving product adoption, utilization, and account penetration initiatives.

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and virtual selling capabilities.

  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or providing guidance to other sales professionals.

Medtronic offers a competitive Salary and flexible Benefits Package

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$55,000.00 - $60,000.00

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

In addition to Base Salary, this position is eligible for a Sales Incentive Plan (SIP), which provides the opportunity to earn significant incentive compensation for achieving or exceeding your goals.

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
