Full job description

Akima Facilities Operations is looking for a General Clerk II to work in Fort Hood, TX. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today!

Responsibilities

  • Review unit paperwork for accuracy and compliance with regulations.

  • Access and process ammunition issue/turn‑in requests via TAMIS (Training Ammunition Management Information System).

  • Process and reconcile DA Form 581 (Request for Issue and Turn‑in of Ammunition) and maintain delegation authority files (DA Form 1687).

  • Draft email responses to resolve documentation compliance issues, and monitor customer mailbox.

  • Provide customer service at the counter and over the phone; schedule unit appointments for ammo transactions.

  • Maintain delinquent document lists and conduct initial quality control checks on paperwork.

  • Assist in physical inventories and record counts of ammunition stock.

  • Support Deployment Readiness Exercises (DRE) and Global Response Force (GRF) missions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet ASP operational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ office or clerical experience.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Solid customer service skills and communication abilities.

  • Ability to interpret unit/ASP terminology, regulations, and procedural manuals.

  • Capability to work under moderate supervision and adapt clerical sequences as required.

  • Able to lift up to 45 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to pass Pre-employment Drug Test and background Screening.

  • Ability to receive a favorable Tier 1 investigation result and obtain/maintain a CAC.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • On-site at an Ammunition Supply Point.

  • Frequent interaction with customers via phone and in person.

  • Physical demands include lifting ammunition paperwork or supplies and moving around inventory areas.

Desired Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Valid commercial driver's license.

Pay & Benefits:

  • Hourly Compensation: $ 17.75.

  • Hourly Health & Welfare: $5.09.
